Driftwood Sculpture #3

This is one of my favorite pieces.  It was found on the beach several years ago.  I've looked at it over and over again trying to figure out the best way to show off the increditble texture and details of the wood.  I cautiously sanded part of it, careful to leave a portion of the original texture in tact.  The juxtaposition of the rough and smooth is very appealing.  The sanded portion shows the incredible grain and sheen of the wood.  The original wood shows the holes made by sea worms and the rough texture created by time spent in the ocean.  This sculpture has been carefully mounted to piece of marble.
